Catastrophic Injury

She was born in Kentucky. Pre-natal ultrasounds and other risk factors indicated that she was at increased risk for her shoulders getting stuck in the birth canal following the delivery of her head. These risk factors were ignored and her shoulders indeed got stuck in the birth canal. Her doctor then pulled down on her head and tore the nerves from her spinal cord to her shoulder, leaving her without the use of one arm for the entirety of her life.

A Kentucky Jury awarded her $1,750,000 in compensation.
